Pabst Best Place Wedding for Rachael & Brad!

Pabst Best Place Wedding in Milwaukee

This may be the first wedding we have ever attended (in nearly 20 years) that boasted mini-bowling, a firetruck, Mariachi band, shots delivered to each table by the bride & groom and a bag piper. But whenever our relationship with a couple starts with a classic Bayview Engagement Session, we fall in love and are extra excited for wedding day to roll around. And their Pabst Best Place Wedding certainly didn’t disappoint!

Wedding Details That Fit

Brad’s love of trees is an important part of who he is and they wanted to add elements to the wedding that were a nod to this passion. Starting with his ring, which is made of both tungsten and oak! We love the non-traditional materials in a wedding ring. This one is truly a work of art.  At the reception, the couple had wooden chargers under the flowers that Brad made with the help of Cot. Perry Bertoni.

When planning your wedding, remember that you can take traditional elements and put your own twist on them to fit your personality. Everyone attending who knows and loves you will recognize these subtle details and get excited about how “you” the event is!

Koz's Mini Bowl Wedding Party

“Make it your own. We love Milwaukee, friends, and good times. We tried to keep that the theme and focus in everything that we did. Our little details included a beer theme in the flowers, cake, boutonnieres, venue and cuff links. I love Mexico and lived there for a year (hence the mariachis).  I also love sparkles. Sweet Sparkles made all of the brides maid jewelry and gifts for our readers etc.” – Rachael

We also made a stop at another classically Milwaukee haunt – Koz’s Mini Bowl! We had a blast with the wedding party at this location. Too bad they didn’t have any fun with us. Just kidding! Can’t you tell they are having a blast! This was a great group.

Where it all began…

Brad and Rachael met right in our very own Bayview at Cafe Lulu. So, it was only appropriate that this Bayview couple make a quick pitstop there on wedding day and grab a beautiful shot under their sign.

Choosing Vendors

“Use local vendors. We tried to use all Milwaukee vendors. Both Front Room and Jaimers Floral are within walking distance of our houses and we plan to use these businesses for and of our floral and photo needs going forward. We have a relationship and we want to build on it. We also used Lee John’s catering out of Waukesha and they were great. I worked for them when I was out of school and knew their service was excellent.” – Rachael & Brad

A Favorite Custom Detail

“We have Baked Custom Desserts procure fondant replicas of our dogs since they were not allowed in church (one is a Great Dane so I understand why ;).” – Rachael

All of the guests and vendors present loved the little touch of the couple’s pups on their classic white cake.

We loved the moment when Rachael had a special dance with her mom to “Sweet Child of Mine”.

Advice from the Couple

“What a fun night!  My advice is to organize everything so that by the day before you can just have fun. If something goes wrong, oh well. Also, have a few surprises for your guests. We had a bag piper and mariachi’s. No one knew anything about them so it was really fun to see reactions. (Open bar certainly doesn’t hurt either when it comes to fun ;)” – Rachael & Brad

We weren’t entirely sure that the firetruck was going to show up for the newlyweds – you never know when duty will call and they will be needed somewhere in the city. But were so excited that everything worked out and this firefighter and his bride got a chance to get some shots in front of the truck! Just one more way they were able to bring personality and fun to the event.

And that wasn’t the only firefighter-related element to their wedding. They had had their rehearsal dinner at Engine Co. 3 the day before. How unique! Future brides & grooms take note – think outside the box!

Finally we couldn’t resist a shot in front of the Jackson’s sign – just over from the Pabst Best Place. A nod to the couple’s new name was the perfect way to wrap up the day.
